Coursework: Ignite presentation learner response

Coursework: Ignite presentation learner response

There have been some excellent Ignite presentations with some brilliantly creative responses to the coursework brief.

Hopefully, the presentations and Q&A sessions that followed have highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of your coursework proposal and may indeed have prompted re-drafts of your statement of intent.

Your learner response is as follows and will take some time to do properly:

1) Type up your feedback in full including the ratings out of five for each of the categories.
  1. research (through presentation AND blog)   3/5
  2. music video/magazine concept                    3/5
  3. Language: terminology and theory               4/5
  4. Representations                                           4/5
  5. Audience and Industry                                  4/5
  6. Delivery                                                         2/5
  7. Total out of 30                                             20/30

  • Good artist name - convincing
  • too much text on the slides- presentation is more aimed at the board rather than the audience. mainly just reading off the slides.
  • slides are changing before all text is read- suggest lach of rehearsal
  • some good ideas but being lost due to the pace of the prentation.
  • footasylum - is this a manufacturer or retail shop? important to check but may be fine.
  • good to see plans for magazine Design and content
  • Most slides are not completed due to the timing
  • Despite this, some good ideas, in terms of narrative and media language, colours, mis-en -scene
  • Excellent point in terms of POV of breakup and subverting stereotype by doing this
  • Lack of theory in presentation, one to address in statement of intent
  • Audience engagement is stronger and industries content is good works for genre /brief
  • There are definitely some good ideas here, but ultimately presentation delivered pretty much with back to audience which is an important lesson for the future

2) Use this feedback, comments from peers and your own reflection on your presentation to self-assess and write your own detailed WWW and EBI for your coursework concept and presentation as a whole.

WWW: researched a lot and had facts to support my statement
EBI: Face the audience when speaking and rehearse more next time.

3) Write a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your actual coursework production. Do you need to update your statement of intent? Does your concept offer enough clarity? Is it appropriate for the audience specified in the brief? Is it achievable to film with the resources you have available? Can you add media terminology or theory to your statement of intent now you have reflected on your presentation and seen others?

This power point will help me know the basics of my music video and magazine, I've got some more points to add and change but however the narrative will stay the same. I need to add more to the statement of intent and i could add theories to my statement and link it to the music video.
