SOUND VIDEO FEEDBACK

Video feedback/learner response

Create a new blogpost called 'Sound video feedback and learner response'. Make sure your video is on YouTube and embedded on your blog and then complete the following tasks:

1) Type up your feedback from your teacher.
  • This is a solid video that meets the brief – one minute, collage-based, clear understanding of parallel and contrapuntal sound.
  • The first image of the contrapuntal section is excellent – it immediately jumps out and signals the change in mood but the music continues. Exactly what we’re looking for!
  • Some of the later contrapuntal images weren’t quite so successful but the overall feel was appropriate.
  • In terms of image quality, using still images was absolutely fine but some were low quality and pixelated which is something to bear in mind for future projects.

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students - you can summarise key points if several students give you similar feedback.
  • Make the pictures more clear.
  • It meets the one minute brief.
  • Great use of music.
3) Now reflect on your work and write your own evaluation of your video. Write a 'What went well' (WWW) paragraph and a paragraph for 'Even Better If' (EBI) underneath the rest of your feedback.

WWW:I think I made an understandable collage and used variety of still images and I think the contrapuntal section was great; I think I used opposite still images to show how the  moods and pictures dont exactly always fit in with the music, and that music is a big factor on deciding the mood of the image.

EBI: I think next time I should use still images that are more clear so it doesn't look pixelated.

4) Learner response: compare your own video against your evaluation of the top three videos in the class. Whose did you think was best and why? How could you have improved your own video?
I think khaterah did the best as you can see what was contrapuntal and what fit the music best, as she uses a fight scene with dramatic music and then contrasts it with a romantic scene of maybe a couple falling in love which didn't fit the music. Next time i could improve by adding clips instead of it all being still clips and it being basic.

5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work?
I have learnt that sound is extremely important as it helps decide the mood of the scene or picture it could also be used to make the audience shocked and confused with different reactions.
