Editing video feedback/learner response

1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher.

  • Good continuity editing when rajandeep goes into and out of the room-clear match on action.
  • dialogue is clear in the most part but one cut in the middle of a sentence broke the continuity, also breaks the 180 degree rule.
  • great to see the sound effects in the fight but you need to sync them up with the action.

2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.

WWW:
  • Sound effect was good, match on action, reverse shot was great.
  • great editing.
  • it was clear, and sounded clear
  • great funny punch sound effect.
  • great various angles.
  • the narrative was entertaining and funny.
  • Rajandeeps smile.
EBI:
  • Broke the 180 degree rule.
  • some parts of the script was unclear.
  • continuity error .
  • maybe you should act in it as well.
  • jump scare of Rajandeep.
  • background noises at the beginning.

3) Now reflect on your video. Did you meet the brief and successfully include the three key editing aspects we have learned? unfortunately we didn't meet the brief successfully as we broke the 180 degree rule, but I have learned from it for future editing tasks.

4) What were the strengths and weaknesses of your final film? Write a detailed analysis picking out specific shots, edits and any other aspect of film language you think is relevant.

The story was humorous and engaging, even though there were students fighting in the hallway of the school without a reason. The punch shots were accurate, but the sound effect for the punch should have matched the attack. The second scene in the classroom was entertaining because that's when things get more clear as they are speaking about the problem. The ending was positive and funny because the innocent student won, but it had to end with him ripping is hat that he really cared about. We ended it on his face and him smiling on purpose to prove it was supposed to be something more funny than serious.

5) Learner response: what aspect of editing did you find most difficult? What have you learned from this process that will help you when you start the actual coursework later this year?
the most difficult was the different angles o a shot as you have to edit it perfectly or else it wouldn't look smooth, I have learnt that you should have extra clips of your scene as their might be mistakes on some that you may not notice while filming; therefore you will have options to see what fits perfect.
